The SFHS Concert Band band locked in and played their socks off last night at the Region 7 Festival. They invested a lot of time and effort to create a great performance. It was so fun to be on stage and enjoy a really solid performance.

The SFHS Concert Band students earned Superior Ratings at the Region Festival which means they qualify to participate in the State Band Festival! This is the first time since 2018 the SFHS Concert Band has qualified for state. Go Dons!

We are thrilled to celebrate Kamrie Sundwall as the National High School Heart of the Arts Award recipient, awarded by UHSAA.

Kamrie truly lives our motto, Here We Learn for Life. She creates an inclusive environment where dance is for everyBODY, while empowering students with confidence, creativity, leadership, and lifelong skills through meaningful dance experiences and collaboration.

She also partners with our Drama Department, led by Andy Hunsaker, helping bridge the worlds of dance and theatre so students can grow as well-rounded artists.

After facing a sudden, life-changing hearing loss last year, Kamrie returned with incredible resilience and an even deeper compassion for her students. Her strength and dedication inspire us all.

Congratulations, Kamrie, we are so proud of you!

Deon Youd has been selected by the Utah Council of Teachers of English as the High School English Language Arts Expert Teacher of the year!

A colleague said, "There are not adequate ways to express what Deon has done and continues to do for her students, colleagues, our school community, and
those who are fortunate enough to know her. She is an inspiration inside and outside of the classroom as to how to treat people and how to be a lifelong learner. Deon is the teacher every student wants to have and the teacher every teacher aspires to be like. She is constantly trying to be better and learn more about how to be a more effective teacher and how to better prepare students to think deeply for themselves. Deon is encouraging, positive, caring, and always supportive. She truly loves what she does and it is apparent in her classroom and her relationships with others. Deon is the best example to others of what it means to truly love others and help them reach their full potential."

Thank you, Deon, for all you do! Go Dons!
