Today, we celebrated our Falcons of the Month for showing thankfulness, our November characteristic!
Throughout the month, students learned what it means to be truly thankful, and each grade did something special to practice it:
✨ Kindergarten: Students wrote the words “Thank you” and delivered their notes to someone they care about.
✨ 1st Grade: Falcons colored pictures to show what they are thankful for.
✨ 2nd Grade: Students played a fun “thankful game” with a ball, sharing gratitude as they played.
✨ 3rd Grade: Classes enjoyed the story “Thank You, Omu!” and discussed acts of kindness and gratitude.
✨ 4th Grade: Falcons challenged themselves to write 25 things they are thankful for!
✨ 5th Grade: Students wrote heartfelt thank-you letters to important people in their lives.

One of our favorite monthly traditions in the Foothills Library is our Silent Readathon!
Students bring a cozy item, choose any comfy spot in the library, grab their favorite book, and settle in while Mrs. Burr turns on our special “reading music” (aka spa music 😌). Then the magic happens! They slip away into their own personal worlds of pure imagination. ✨

Mrs. Melander’s class is working on an exciting STEM project this week: building and launching water bottle rockets alongside visiting students from BYU.
In kindergarten, we're having a lot of farm fun! Our CKLA Knowledge unit will introduce students to several farm animals as well as to crops that people grow on farms. Students will learn how farmers raise and care for farm animals.
Mrs. Swendson's students absolutely loved their ancient civilizations unit! They had so much fun making posters to represent the different pharaohs they learned about and placing them on a timeline. One of their favorites was Hatshepsut—they were fascinated that she “broke the rules” by becoming a pharaoh even though, at the time, only men were supposed to hold that role. Such a fun way to bring history to life!
Foothills Elementary is excited to announce auditions for our school musical, Roald Dahl’s Matilda Jr.! This is an excellent opportunity for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students to shine on stage, build confidence, and be part of a fantastic theatre experience.
Auditions will be held after school on Monday, December 8th. Students can sign up for an audition time using the QR code on the flyer, and all audition details, including rehearsal dates and parental agreement information, are available on our school website.

Mrs Gammell's class has been learning about Energy and how it transfers. We played a game of bowling and saw how rolling the ball at different speeds transfers to the pins.
Mrs. Reynolds class earned a party in the falcon fun room this last week. We had the best time getting to celebrate their hard work and dedication!!
Honoring Veteran's Day with a special assembly. We loved having Veterans share their experiences and getting to sing a song of gratitude to them.

5th Graders had the opportunity to attend a Leadership Conference, put together by Mrs. Brindley. They heard from some of their peers, a motivational speaker, and some of the SHHS girls wrestling team. They learned about their worth, being kind, and what it means to be a leader.
