Educators Rising students returned from their trip to Orlando, Florida for the Educators Rising National Competition with over 3,000 students from across the country. Nebo School District represented so well. Allianna Walters, Jastynnie (Arrow) Miner, Lucelia Green, and Autumn Partridge all competed and were very successful! A few of the highlights from the competition were:
Allianna Walters was announced as the 2025-2026 National Educators Rising President! She ran against thousands of students across the country and we are beyond excited for her! She also received a white ribbon for her competitive event, Project Visualize, where she facilitated a week full of activities for students at SFHS with special needs.
Jastynnie (Arrow) Miner received the Educators Rising Leadership Award and received a $1,000 scholarship. For this award, she spent 100’s of hours in special education classrooms helping non-verbal students learn to communicate, fundraised to put an AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) Device in the All Abilities park in Spanish Fork, and even assisted a child in telling his parents he loved them for the very first time. When she was the one student in the nation to receive this award during the awards ceremony, the students from Nebo were ecstatic!
Congratulations to these students for a job well done!

We're in the home stretch, and although the semester is winding down, our activities are still in full swing. Our students continue to engage in dynamic and educational experiences, showcasing their hard work and dedication.
One of the standout events this week has been the final practicum for our Criminal Investigations classes. Students have been busy processing an extensive two-acre crime scene as part of their final assessment. This scene included a variety of complex elements such as a body, weapon, shell casings, drugs, a vehicle, and plenty of simulated blood evidence.

Kids Cause is excited to invite you to our Charity Golf Tournament on Monday, June 2! This event will support students in Nebo School District by helping provide glasses, dental work, clothing, and other essentials. Kids Cause works closely with school social workers and administrators to identify students who need extra help, making a real difference in our community.
The tournament promises a fun day for a great cause — just $60 per person! Bring your own foursome if possible! Lunch will be provided, and there will be lots of prizes to win throughout the day. Come enjoy a round of golf and help us continue supporting kids in need! We hope to see you there!

Our Nebo Block Party at the ALC on Saturday ROCKED! It was a SUPER fun day where students and family participated, either as performers or just watching LIVE music and supporting their friends and family! What a BLAST! Thank you to Mr. Ford and his AMAZING Business Caps class students! ROCK On!

Imagine stepping into the shoes of a real crime scene investigator—analyzing fingerprints, tracking bullet trajectories, uncovering hidden poisons, and using laser imaging to bring crime scenes to life. This year, our Forensic Science students had the incredible opportunity to visit Utah Valley University for Forensic Science Day, where they worked hands-on with experts in ballistics, drug analysis, crime scene processing, and more. They explored how tire and shoe impressions help crack cases and saw Locard’s Exchange Principle in action. If you’ve ever been curious about how science solves crimes, Medical Forensics is your chance to dive into the thrilling world of forensics. Don’t just watch the mystery—be the one who solves it!

On Friday, May 9th the ALC hosted our eSports Showdown! Students were invited to come play Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros! Screens, game rooms and food were all provided!
Our eSports showdown winners were:
Super Smash Bros: Myles Fife
Mario Kart: Gage Osborn
Thanks for a great night of gaming, Mr. Powell and students!
