USU-E

We were super excited to welcome Kimball Thorpe (pre-med Student Amabassador) from the USU-E Nursing Program today to the ALC! Mrs. Hartvigson's students learned so much about their awesome campus opportunities.

Some of the information Kimball shared was:

  • Campus tours

  • Connect with professors

  • Certifications are a great way to prepare for future employment

  • USU-E Applications are received in spring for following fall

  • Most credits will transfer from other institutions (talk with admissions office to verify)

  • Take some chemistry courses if looking at nursing career (before anatomy and physiology)

  • Prerequisites must be completed before applying to medical school

  • Only 1500 students

  • 17 to 1 student to professor ratio (smaller class size)

  • Fewer students vying for same opportunities

  • Professors are connected to the community

  • Less expensive than other Utah institutions, e.g., housing, tuition, etc.

  • Small knit community - able to make connections and facilitate networking opportunities

  • A lot of amazing outdoor opportunities

Also, some great advice to be sure to go on a tour of whichever university(s) you are considering! Thanks so much for coming, Kimball!!!
